Does my monitor need power through my graphics card?

I'm using an Nvidia 8800 GTX and a Dell 3007WFP 30 inch monitor and I'm curious if all of the power needed for my monitor comes from the monitors power cord or if it supplements any through the DVI cord that goes to my graphics card.

The DVI lead is just for the picture signals
it gets it’s power from the power cord, the cord going into the computer is just what the computer sends to the screen to show up.
all the power is in the cord, the video card just works on if your computer can handle the graphics
