30″ inch gaming monitor?

I am looking for a new gaming monitor, i was thinking about getting a 30inch monitor, i read some reviews on dells being pretty well, what would be a good choice for a 30 incher in the price range below 1.500 usd.

I have two of them on my AutoCAD desk at work, spectacular refresh rate and super sharp.
Please think before you decide to buy such a big monitor. Do you need it first of all? I mean, you really need such an extreme resolution? Also make sure you got good enough hardware (especially GPU) to handle such a big monitor.
if you cant afford expensive kit just buy a hdtv. You will need a HDM output on your computer though, otherwise you end up with a rather crud resolution.
of course 1080 is preferential to 720.
